WordPress development and support

WordPress works well as long as someone looks after it. Trouble usually starts not with the platform but with a dozen plugins installed "just in case", a purchased theme nobody updates, and no backups. We build new WordPress sites without that baggage, and put existing ones back in order: strip out what is unused, update safely, speed things up and take the site onto regular maintenance.

What is included

New websites

Built around your content and processes, without piling on plugins where a few lines of code will do.

Improvements

New blocks and post types, theme changes, custom fields, forms and third-party integrations.

Speed

Caching, image and query optimisation, removing unused code, work on Core Web Vitals.

Security and updates

Core, theme and plugin updates on a staging copy rather than blind. Backups, admin hardening, clean-up after a hack.

Migrations

Moving to different hosting or a new domain without downtime and without losing search positions.

WooCommerce

A store on WordPress: catalogue, payments, delivery, product feeds and reporting.

Who it fits

  • Owners whose WordPress site works but is slow, with no clear reason why.
  • Companies whose developer disappeared along with the credentials and documentation.
  • Site owners dealing with the aftermath of a hack or a failed update.
  • Anyone who wants a new site on a platform they can edit themselves.

How we work

  1. 1

    Audit

We review the theme, plugins, PHP version, speed, backups and any signs of intrusion, and show what is actually causing problems.

  2. 2

    Work plan

We separate urgent (security, breakage) from planned (speed, improvements) so you do not pay for everything at once.

  3. 3

    Staging copy

Every change lands on a copy first. The live site does not break during updates.

  4. 4

    Push to production

We roll the changes out and verify forms, pages and indexation afterwards.

  5. 5

    Ongoing care

Then scheduled updates, monitoring and backups, so the same story does not repeat.

Frequently asked

Will you take on a site another developer built?

Yes — it is a large part of our work. We start with an audit: we work through the theme and plugins, find what was done in a non-standard way, and tell you what can be fixed and what is cheaper to rebuild. Missing documentation or no contact with the previous developer is not an obstacle.

Why is my WordPress slow?

Most often a heavy all-purpose theme, a dozen plugins loading on every page, unoptimised images, an outdated PHP version and no caching. An audit shows the specific causes on your site — usually two or three changes account for most of the gain.

Is it safe to update WordPress?

It is, as long as you do not update the live site. We take a copy, update core, theme and plugins on it, check the key pages and forms, and only then push the changes across. A backup before any work is mandatory.

What should I do if the site was hacked?

We remove the malicious code, close the vulnerability that let it in, rotate credentials, update everything outdated and check whether the site landed on any blocklists. After that we recommend regular maintenance — repeat hacks almost always happen where updates had stopped.

Can you move the site to different hosting?

Yes. We move the files and database, configure the domain and certificate, and verify forms, email and speed in the new environment. The move is planned so the site stays reachable for both visitors and search engines.
