Website technical support and maintenance

A website does not stay healthy on its own. A certificate expires, an update breaks a form, the host changes the PHP version, a vulnerability appears — and you usually hear about it from a customer. We look after sites continuously rather than after an incident: we watch availability, update on a staging copy, keep working backups and answer ourselves, with no account-manager queue in between. Some of the sites we maintain we launched ourselves many years ago.

What is included

Monitoring

We watch uptime and the expiry of your domain and certificate. We find out about a problem, not your customers.

Updates

CMS core, theme, plugins and PHP version — on a copy first, then on the live site.

Backups

Regular file and database backups, verified so that a restore actually works.

Bug fixes

A form that stops sending, a page returning an error, a layout broken by an update — we find the cause and fix it.

Improvements

New pages and blocks, text and structure changes, small enhancements on request.

Security

Admin hardening, closing vulnerabilities, clean-up after a hack and watching for suspicious activity.

Who it fits

  • Companies with no in-house developer, where the site is handled only when it breaks.
  • Site owners whose contractor stopped replying.
  • Businesses where downtime immediately means lost enquiries or sales.
  • Anyone who has already been through a hack or data loss and does not want a repeat.

How we work

  1. 1

    Audit first

We check the state of the site, versions, backups, speed and security, and record the starting point in writing.

  2. 2

    Urgent work first

We close what threatens the site: vulnerabilities, missing backups, critical errors.

  3. 3

    Scheduled work

Then updates and improvements on a schedule rather than chaotically after every report.

  4. 4

    Your tasks

You describe a task, we estimate it in hours, agree it and do it. No surprises on the invoice.

  5. 5

    Reporting

You see exactly what was done and how long it took. The credentials stay yours throughout.

Frequently asked

Will you support a site you did not build?

Yes, and most of our projects are exactly that. We start with an audit: we work through the code, platform and change history, record the current state and tell you what needs attention soon. Missing documentation or no contact with the previous developer is not an obstacle.

How much does website support cost?

Billing is hourly, from 35 USD per hour, for work actually carried out. Every task is estimated in hours before it starts and agreed with you. For sites with a steady flow of work we agree a regular arrangement.

How quickly do you respond to a problem?

Requests during working hours are picked up the same day, and a site that will not load takes priority over scheduled tasks. Resolution time depends on the cause: a hosting outage and a bug in the code take different amounts of time, and we tell you which one you are dealing with straight away.

Do I keep my credentials?

Yes. The domain, hosting, admin panel and code stay yours for the whole engagement. We do not transfer the domain to ourselves and we do not arrange things so the site cannot be managed without us.

What is included and what is billed separately?

Monitoring, scheduled updates, backups and bug fixes are the regular maintenance work. New pages, new features, redesigned sections and large integrations are separate tasks: we estimate them in hours and agree them before starting.
